IGNOU MCA 2022 (Master of Computer Applications) programme is of three years which is further divided into six semesters. The semester system approach has been applied for this programme by the university. The programme is divided into two semesters annually. The first semester spans from January to June month and the second semester is from July to December. The exams for the Jan-June semester are held in June whereas the term-end exams (TEE) for the July-December semester take place in December month.
Due to the semester system, the students have full advantage to appear in any of the course exams in any of the semester subjects to complete the programme in minimum time as per instructions from the university. The total number of courses in this programme are 31 in number with a total credit of 108. The programme is available in English medium only.

Admission Eligibility
The candidate seeking admission in the Master of Computer Applications programme of Indira Gandhi National Open University must possess three years Bachelor Degree from any recognized University and he or she must have studied mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or graduation level else the candidate must need to pursue and pass the BCS-012 course concurrently with this programme. There is no need to pursue the BCS-012 course if have studied mathematics at the 10+2 level.
Course Duration
The student should pass or clear all the courses of this programme within the minimum duration of 3 years and maximum duration of 6 years.
Programme Fee
The total fee for this programme is Rs. 54,000/-. The fee is divided into Rs. 9000/- per semester. For the first semester, students need to pay Rs. 100 in addition to registration fees.The students who have not studied mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level need to pay an additional fee of Rs.1200/- for the BCS-012 course.
