IGNOU MARD Master of Arts in Rural Development is a two-year programme. For this programme, the yearly system approach has been applied by IGNOU University. The admission for MARD is provided in 2 sessions i.e. January-June and July-December. The exams for the Jan-June session are held in June whereas the term-end exams (TEE) for the July-December session take place in December month. The total number of courses in this programme is 10 (60 Credits) and one dissertation (12 credits) with a total credit of 72 (1 credit is 30 study hours).To successfully complete the programme and get the degree, students need to clear all the courses and fulfil the dissertation requirement. Programme Objective
This programme has been offered by the School of Continuing Education at the University. IGNOU MA (RD) programme had been launched in July 2005. The programme has been designed with the main objective to incorporate such numerous educational content as or essential for the formation of this discipline in the Indian Context.
An essential part of this programme is the thesis which is known as a dissertation (MRDP-001) based on experimental research in rural areas. It is a very helpful programme for the people working in various Government departments/agencies, NGOs, Cooperatives, Banks and other institutions who have been engaged in rural transformation.

IGNOU MARD Grade Card / Result
After MARD Term-end Exams are over, it takes almost 45 days for the university to publish the IGNOU Master of Arts in Rural Development result for June or December Term End Exams. The answer sheet for these exams is sent to different study centres for checking.
Sometimes, it takes a little more time than 45 days to publish results as the huge number of answer sheets need to be checked by authorised university checkers. Some students apply for the early declaration of the result.
