IGNOU Online Admission 2022-23: Eligible candidates may take admission to the IGNOU University for the various Open /Distance Courses, Regular Courses and Online courses through either Online or Offline mode. IGNOU University invites applications to apply for various Programmes i.e. Masters, Bachelors, Post Graduate Diplomas, Diplomas, Advanced certificates and Certificates. You may fill out the IGNOU Admission 2022–23 online mode twice a year i.e. in the June and July academic sessions of every year. IGNOU is a world-famous university and is best known for its Open and Distance Education Programmes. IGNOU Admission 2022 Updates: IGNOU University extends the deadline for admission to the July 2022 session until August 25, 2022. The deadline for new admissions for the July 2022 session (excluding certificate programmes) has been extended until the 25th of August 2022.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers 125 academic programmes for the June 2022 and July 2022 sessions in which you may take admission through online mode. To know complete details of all the courses offered by IGNOU University, you may download the IGNOU Prospectus 2022 whose official link is provided at the bottom. If you want to take admission to more than 1 programme then you have to submit a separate IGNOU Online Admission Form 2022.

Mode of IGNOU Fee Payment

Candidates may submit the IGNOU Fee payment through online mode via using either service like Debit Card/ Credit Card / Net Banking.

How to Apply for IGNOU Online Admission 2022

Follow the steps to apply online-

  1. Firstly, candidates are required to go to the official website of IGNOU to apply online i.e. https://onlineadmission.ignou.ac.in.
  2. Now, Select the particular Programme that you wish to pursue and are eligible to apply for that course.
  3. Click on “Register Yourself” if you are a new user with your valid Email Address.
  4. Once you registered online, re-login with your Username and Password.
  5. Now, you have to upload the scanned copy of your passport size Photograph and Signature.
  6. They must upload scanned copies of all the relevant certificates.
  7. Click on the “Declaration” box and then proceed next to fill the IGNOU Admission Fee through either Credit/Debit card/Net Banking.
  8. You will get the confirmation of fee payment via SMS on registered Mobile No.
  9. Once you are finished with all details, take the printout of the submitted online application form.

Note:- You are not required to send the hard copy of the application form.

CHECKLIST to Fill up the IGNOU Admission form

Before sending the filled-in form to the concerned Regional Centre, please check whether you have :

  • (a) Affixed your Photograph.
  • (b) Enclosed are the following attested certificates,
  1. Certificates in support of your educational qualification(s).  If you are applying for BCA/MCA and have studied
  2. Mathematics at 10+2 level, attach marks sheet as proof.
  3. Experience certificate wherever required.
  4. Category certificate for SC/ST/PH/OBC (non-creamy layer) Minority candidates. No change of category shall be entertained by students after the submission of the application form.
  5. Age certificate wherever required.
  6. Student Card duly filled in along with a photograph.
  7. Acknowledgement Card duly affixed with the postage stamp for Rs 6/-.
  • (c)  Attach a Pay Order/Demand Draft for the Programme Fee/Fee for the first year/Semester and have written your name, programme code and application No. on the reverse of the Demand Draft, Challan Form issued by bank (in case of fee deposited through cash challan at Indian Bank/IDBI Bank only).
  • (d) In the case of below poverty line students, documentary proof (photocopy of BPL ration card) is to be attached separately.

  2. Click on the 'Student Zone section given on the right side top of the webpage.
  3. Now click on the 'Admission' link given on the webpage.
  4. Next click on the 'GET CONFIRMATION ON YOUR REGISTRATION BY NAME' or 'KNOW YOUR ADMISSION/REGISTRATION DETAILS' to check the admission registration status.
  5. Now you will get your admission status. 
  6. Save it for future reference

IGNOU Admission Important Dates

The Indira Gandhi National Open University is inviting applications for admission to its various Bachelor's Degree, Masters Degree, BPP, Diploma and Certificate programmes. The admissions are opened up for these above-mentioned programmes for the July 2022 academic cycle. IGNOU Admission for July 2022 cycle has started on 21, July 2022 and will last long till the 31st August of December 2022 with late fees. To get admission in various IGNOU Courses, students need to obtain the Common prospectus from the nearest regional centre. The admission application form will be included in the prospectus. Students can take the xerox copy of that form or can cut it from the prospectus.  

IGNOU Admission Prospectus 2022

The Admission prospectus for Jan 2022 session can be obtained from the nearest regional centre in hand. To buy the prospectus, you need to pay a sum of Rs.200/- as a fee. It can be bought from the counsellor sitting in the regional centre.

You can also order your prospectus by post by sending a sum of Rs. 250/- in form of a Demand Draft in the favour of IGNOU, New Delhi to the following address: REGISTRAR, Student Registration Division, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi 110 068.

If you don’t want to follow the above two methods, you have another option for which you do not need to pay any fees. You can download the IGNOU Prospectus soft copy from the university's official website.
